AI Content Calendar Prompts: Plan a Month of Posts in an Afternoon

A content calendar removes the daily "what should I post?" problem. These five prompts build one from the top down: goals, pillars, the right mix of content, a big idea bank and recurring series.

Start with goals, then pillars

A calendar is only useful if it points somewhere. Begin with a 90-day plan: who you want to reach, what you want them to do and which platforms matter. Then define three to five content pillars, the recurring themes your account is known for. Every post in the calendar should map to a pillar and a goal; anything that doesn't is a candidate to cut.

Balance evergreen and timely content

Evergreen posts (how-tos, frameworks and stories) keep working for months. Timely posts (news, trends and reactions) get attention quickly but fade. A healthy calendar mixes both, typically leaning evergreen, with room left for trends as they happen. The mix prompt below sets that ratio for your niche and posting frequency.

Fill it and keep it going

You can run these prompts in ChatGPT, Claude or Grok. Ask for the final calendar as a table with date, platform, pillar, format, hook and call to action, then paste it into a spreadsheet or Notion.
