Grok Prompts for X Growth: Threads, Replies & Weekly Sprints

Grok has live access to X, which makes it unusually good at X strategy: it can see what is being discussed right now. These five prompts turn that into a repeatable weekly routine.

Why Grok for X

Most AI models write about X from memory. Grok can look at current posts and conversations, so it is useful for spotting live topics in your niche, checking how a format is performing and adapting your ideas to what people are actually discussing this week. It still needs a good brief, though, or it will write the same hype-filled threads as everyone else.

What actually grows an X account

A weekly routine with these prompts

On Monday, run the weekly X content sprint to plan the week. Draft one or two threads with the thread architect and a batch of standalone posts for the other days. Spend fifteen minutes a day on replies using the reply strategy. Once a month, run the profile growth audit and adjust your bio, pinned post and topics based on what it finds.

Write in your own voice. Paste a few of your best posts into the context so Grok can match your tone, and edit everything before you post it.

The prompts

Viral Thread Architect (SM-031)

Best tool: Grok, since it is built into X; any model works.

ROLE: You are a ghostwriter for top X accounts.
CONTEXT: Topic: [TOPIC]. Audience: [TARGET_AUDIENCE]. My credibility: [CREDIBILITY].
TASK: Write a 10-post thread. Post 1 is the hook and promise. Posts 2-9 each deliver one specific insight with an example. Post 10 summarizes and invites a follow or reply.
OUTPUT FORMAT: Numbered posts, each under 280 characters, with a character count in brackets after each one.

Single-Post Banger Batch (SM-032)

Best tool: Grok or any model.

ROLE: You are an X growth writer.
CONTEXT: Niche: [NICHE]. Voice notes: [VOICE_NOTES].
TASK: Write 20 standalone posts across these types: one-liner insight, list, contrarian take, mini-story, question, and observation.
OUTPUT FORMAT: Numbered list grouped by type. Each post under 280 characters. Mark the 5 you predict will perform best and explain why in one line each.

Reply-Guy Strategy (Done Right) (SM-033)

Best tool: Grok.

ROLE: You are an engagement strategist.
CONTEXT: Big accounts in my niche: [ACCOUNT_LIST]. My expertise: [YOUR_EXPERTISE].
TASK: Create a daily 20-minute reply routine and 15 reply templates that add genuine value (data, a counter-example, a framework, a personal story) instead of "Great post!".
OUTPUT FORMAT: Routine as a checklist, then templates grouped by type with a filled-in example for each.

Weekly X Content Sprint (SM-036)

Best tool: GPT-6 Astra or Claude.

ROLE: You are a social media manager running an X account.
CONTEXT: Pillars: [CONTENT_PILLARS]. Posting capacity: [POSTS_PER_DAY] posts per day.
TASK: Plan 7 days of posts: one thread on two days, standalone posts on the rest, and one engagement question per day.
OUTPUT FORMAT: Day-by-day table: Day | Post type | Full draft | Best time slot to test.

Profile Growth Audit (X) (SM-037)

Best tool: Grok.

ROLE: You are an X account auditor.
CONTEXT: My bio: [CURRENT_BIO]. Pinned post: [PINNED_POST]. My last 10 posts with impressions: [PASTE_POSTS_AND_STATS].
TASK: Diagnose what is limiting growth: positioning, hooks, consistency, format mix or engagement habits.
OUTPUT FORMAT: Top 5 problems ranked by impact, the fix for each, and a rewritten bio and pinned post.
